We bought 1000 board feet of kiln dried rough cut white pine in 1X10 and 1X12 widths. The photos of Jon with the wood shavings on page 57 are from those boards. After Jon planed the boards, we moved them up to the house and stacked them for edging with the tablesaw. Jon put sheets of O.S.B. on the floors first, then we covered that with tar paper. Jon measured and cut the boards to lengths, sanded them with the finishing sander, and took them upstairs. The stack of wooden boxes near the wood stove Jon built during December. Two are wedding gifts and three are for the Florida Frontiersmen Club to give as prizes at the Alafia Rendezvous.
I stained the boards as Jon brought them to me. When we had the boards ready for the length of the room, we layed the boards. Jon drew the board up tight with the previously laid board using a wood chisel as a lever. I stood on the board to make sure it was flush and flat to the underlayment, while Jon nailed it down with three inch cut nails (square concrete nails).
We met Emily Lenski at the Lutheran Church a couple weeks ago. She boards her horse at the Horse Ranch across th road from us. Emily was glad to earn a little money helping me scrape windows, while Jon edged more boards.
