Keith Payne decided to come and help with the electric job, while Kathy Ater was here. She and Kathy have been friends for many years. She worked in the basement installing the smoke detector and wiring the main breaker panel. She had only one wire left to connect when this photo was taken. She had already finished the wiring of the upstairs sub-panel. Since she is a perfectionist, her jobs are always done neatly. Each time Keith has come to help, she has brought her guitar. She is usually too tired at the end of the day to pick up the guitar. However; she will not only bring the guitar in June 2003 for the Hougie Heaven House Raising Reunion, but she will play for us.
Kathy Ater became quite proficient at wiring the outlets. She even made a trip to Lowe's to pick up more supplies. Of course, she had the top down on her convertible on her way to town. She rented the car for her vacation to North Carolina. This is the second time Kathy has come to help us, while on vacation. Next summer she will come for the bi-annual Hougie Heaven House Raising Reunion and she won't have to work on the house.
Tuesday morning before Kathy and Anne left for Mars Hill, NC, they helped Jon and Keith hang the kitchen cabinets. The cabinets are placed about 8 inches from the windows to allow for corner shelves to be added later.
