These cedar boards are the first of the boards Jon has planed for the exterior, interior walls. We may use some of the cedar boards on the wall to the right and left behind the wood stove. The Cedar shavings had such a nice aroma, that I mulched some of my flower beds with the shavings, and I boxed up some for making paraffin wax fire starters. I guess you can say we are being frugal by using cardboard egg cartons, paraffin wax and wood shavings to make the fire starters.
Jon has spent many hours working with his Grizzly Planer lately. The majority of the boards are poplar with a few pine mixed in. We may use pine for our guest bedroom exterior, interior walls. July 1, Jon was plaining more boards, when Terry arrived from South Carolina. He helped Jon finish the job. Terry likes working with wood and he just bought a used table saw that had only been used once.
The shavings pile up pretty fast. My job has been to haul the shavings to the garden. Before I spread the shavings into the garden, I do a real good job of weeding. Since we haven't had much time to take care of the garden lately, we hope this will help keep the weeds down. The chicken yard looks great right now with the shavings I have dumped in there. I am thankful to have the new wheelbarrow for hauling.
