HOUGIE HEAVEN HOUSE RAISING
Drywall Job, June 17 - July 3, 2002
Monday, June 17, the truck hauling the drywall barely made it up our driveway. Jon was in town buying supplies. I called him and he told the men where to unload the drywall. I grabbed my camcorder and digital camera and climbed the bank on the east end of the house for taking photos. I was amazed with the operation. One of the men used a remote control to operate the boom on the truck. The first load was unloaded to the front porch and then carried inside. I was getting a video of that, so I missed getting digital photos.
Jon made it home, just after the men finished unloading the downstairs drywall through the front porch. The next step was even more interesting. They unloaded all of the upstairs drywall through the window.
Tuesday morning, June 18, Cody Barnes, upper right, arrived with his crew to start hanging the drywall. Jake Cloud, lower left, and Noah Cloud, lower right, worked with Cody several days. Cody did a good job, but he was not dependable. He would promise to come and not show. He finally stopped showing up for work. July 3, Justin Atcheson, Cody's boss came and did the final sanding job in order to get paid.
