HOUGIE HEAVEN HOUSE RAISING
BOARDS ON BASEMENT WALL, WINDOWS AND DOOR FRAMED IN, AUGUST 25
Saturday morning Jon and Mark got right to work after breakfast. The 16 to 18 inch boards they picked up from Jimmy Hedden covered the wall much faster than the 8 to 10 inch boards. Jon has always said he thought we would have enough pine boards, but to his surprise we had to get more to finish the job. We are thankful Jimmy had the boards cut and stacked already at his mill.
Elaine helped me pull weeds in the area below the house. It was necessary to prepare the area for grass seeds. By the end of the day, the wall was covered, and the windows and door were framed in. Having Mark to help Jon allowed Elaine and I to get other things done, for which I am thankful.
