These photos were taken August 6. They represent eight weeks of work. Jon and I have put in many hours, but without our family and friends helping it would not be possible to be this far along. Thanks to everyone who has taken vacation time to work very hard on our dream. With Keith's help the front porch now has a roof and is very comfortable. Getting the front door in was a highlight for Jon and I. Keith gave us a very special gift for the porch. Charlie the Bear is a wooden bear carved by Keith's friend. It was Charlie Knight, also known as "Big Bear", who hosted the Alafia River Rendezvous on his property in Florida for many years. Keith said that it was because of Charlie that she met us and nineteen years later became a part of the Hougie Heaven House Raising adventure.
